Your Top 10 Questions Answered
Reading & Wokingham based, Outdoor Photoshoots
You’re not worried about every stray hair staying in place; you’d rather throw your baby in the air and watch his infectious giggles on his way back down; or twirl her around in the woods at sunset, as she throws her head back in heart warming, belly-aching laughter.
You want photos that will bring you back here to this special time of your lives, and show who you are and how you all loved.
Photos that will always make you smile and that you’ll proudly display around the house for years to come.
And, if you can make it an experience everyone actually enjoys, then all the better!
But you’re busy spinning all those plates (I know that feeling!), and you hadn’t got around to arranging it yet.
Only you blinked, and they grew up so much since you last thought of it.
Let me help you to create your treasured family heirlooms in a fun and easy going experience. I’ll guide you through the process so that you can have beautiful, authentic family photos before everyone grows up any more.
1. Where will the photos be taken?
My outdoor family photoshoots are full of inspiration and connection. The amazing woodlands and open spaces are what make it possible to get those beautiful, natural moments between you all and some unique and breathtaking family portraits together.
You’ll get suggestions on some gems of local places to get your photos in and the time of day it will look its best so you can all turn up excited and ready to explore. Some of my favourite locations span across Finchampstead, Wokingham, Iver and High Wycombe so there’s a great range.
COVID-19 UPDATE – Our outdoor photoshoots are the ultimate in socially distanced but magical and memorable fun moments with your loved ones. I will always stay at a safe distance and bring my longest lense (which also happens to be one of my most favourite in terms of results). This will be a change for all of your family in a quiet secluded woodland area so you can all get dressed with somewhere to go and create a truly special memory of you all in these times.
2. Should we be nervous?
Nooo. You really definitely shouldn’t feel nervous. (But I appreciate that you still will be because you’re human).
Honestly, I’m great with people and the nature of these outdoor family shoots means that there’s a little extra magic in the air as you spend time together with your loved ones in the woods at sunset.
We’ll get a great range of photos, starting with the safe and formal (but ever so beautiful) ones. Then, I’ll give you different prompts and suggestions and let you all enjoy this magical setting together whilst I step back and photograph all the sweetest moments from afar.
3. How long does the shoot take?
I run a small, boutique and very personalised service so you’ll always have my undivided attention and we can work as fast or slow as you’d like.
Loving the experience? Cool, stay for longer and we can have some fun playing with different poses and backgrounds.
Hate being photographed but know that you have to do this because your grandparents will love them up on their walls? No worries, I’ll work as quickly as I can.
In general, we can be finished in around an hour, and usually the kids and husbands have had enough of being photographed by then too so it’s a good time to stop.
“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever – impossible to reproduce” Karl Lagerfeld
4. Who are these shoots for?
Whoever you want it to be for.
Some people use them to update their family portraits for the whole crew. Others just want a new photo or two of their little children once or twice a year because they are changing so much so quickly (isn’t that the truest cliche?)
I’ll photograph any combination of your family for these shoots that you like, mother and daughter shoots, father and son, kids and grandparents, or a mix of all of these but these outdoor shoots are a great opportunity to get photos of all of the family together.
5. When can we see our photos?
I’ll invite you over to my Winnersh based home studio around a week after your photoshoot to see your beautiful finished images at your viewing and ordering session.
This is your chance to choose how you’d like to see your photographs displayed around your home. I’ll get these all edited for you as soon as possible and deliver your beautiful prints and wall art purchases as soon as they are ready.
You’ll get your photos back within a couple of weeks because I can’t wait to edit them and see them printed either.
COVID-19 UPDATE – With everything going on, we want to put your safety first. During this time, all viewings will be done online and delivery times for printed products may be delayed due to closures of the print labs or reduced staff levels, so please bear with us but know that the finished products will be so worth it!
6. What format do we get the photos in?
There’s nothing like the tactile experience of seeing and feeling your gorgeous photos printed and enjoyed the old fashioned way.
When you see them printed in big, high-resolution, archival-quality print? Wow, they will totally stop you in your tracks too!
I’ll give you complete guidance on how you can best display your photos and you’re welcome to browse through my beautiful sample displays to see what the end product will look like.
7. Yes, but do I get the digital files too?
Sure, of course. We live in a digital world so I’ll bet you can’t wait to share your photos online or in your family WhatsApp group. You’ll get the digital files for any photos you purchase.
